The iPhone 6 Plus is one of the best phones on the market.
When Apple released the phablet last year, it was greeted with huge expectations, and the company managed to fulfil almost all of them. One area that is constantly a concern with iPhones and Apple’s products is battery life. That was one of the issues of the iPhone 6 Plus as well, but it seems like the new, iOS 9 update will sort things out.
Battery Life of iPhone 6 Plus
The iPhone 6 Plus features a non-removable 2915 mAh battery that has proven to last up to 10 hours with moderate usage. According to the company’s statistics, the phone should last 384 hours on standby, offer 24 hours of talk time and up to 80 hours of music play. But in reality, the iPhone 6 fails to achieve those lofty standards. Forums are full with complaints about battery life, and most users have to charge the iPhone 6 Plus twice in the day.
The iOS 9 Update
With the iOS 9 update, Apple will look to improve vastly battery life on its devices, the iPhone 6 Plus included. For starters, Apple will add proximity sensor to the latest version of its operating system. The sensor will turn the screen off when your phone is faced down. The screen will be off even when notifications arrive. The sensor will save at least one hour of battery usage. Additionally, Apple will install a Low Power Mode, or what Android users know as Power Battery Saving mode. When the mode is activated, the brightness of the screen is lowered, push notifications are disabled, the screen goes to sleep faster than usual, background apps are turned off and the sensors are turned off. But as a trade-off, users get three more hours of their iPhone 6 Plus.
